We seek to develop leadership capacities among Nodal Head Masters and Head teachers of all the schools across the Union Territory of DNH & DD so that they can facilitate environments that foster learning with meaning in the schools of the UT.
The Leadership for Learning with Meaning program operates across the UT of DNH & DD in about 400 schools which reach more than one lakh children.
The Director and Assistant Director- Education, DIET officials, 40 Nodal Head Masters and about 340 head teachers participate in the program. At all levels the program seeks to develop a deeper understanding of how children learn meaningfully, and how adults can create an environment that fosters learning with meaning.
At all levels, the program also develops, among the participants, a deeper understanding of how to inspire and enable the people who report to them to create such a learning environment in their schools and classrooms.
FCL and the Department of Education DNH & DD agreed to work together towards building leadership capacities of Heads of Schools in the UT beginning June 2023.
The program began with a needs and context analysis and baseline assessment. This has been followed by a training of Nodal Headmasters who have been practising the new approach to learning in classroom in their respective schools.
The Department of Education in DNH & DD is the critical element ensuring the effectiveness of this program.
The commitment of the senior leadership of the department creates a highly supportive environment for the headmasters to explore the new ways of helping children learn.
